Women in construction join NAWIC for many reasons. For some it's to be part of a network of like-minded women facing the challenges and the opportunities of a career in the construction industry. For others it's chance to learn more about technical or leadership skills.
Many of our members join early in their careers and stay for decades or more, eventually becoming role models and mentors to younger members. During this time their NAWIC membership offers them educational opportunities, local networking events, regional conferences and our annual national meeting. Perhaps most important is the shared camaraderie of other women in construction at various points of their careers.
The cost to join (which varies slightly from chapter to chapter) is a great value considering what members receive from networking, education and continuing career growth.
